Corporate Services & Communications
Purpose
Corporate Services and Communications has the role of developing the organisation and provides systems, governance structures, services and infrastructure to support line divisions to deliver core services to clients. The division operates the Victorian Government’s web portal for small business and the Victorian Business Line and also incorporates Strategic Communications, which provides expert, integrated, whole-of-department communications advice and solutions for branding, writing services, reputation management, internal and external communications.
The division has primary responsibility for:- People, including organisational development
- Finance, including grants administration and procurement
- Information management and technology, including records management
- Legal, audit and risk, including Freedom of Information
- Service improvement and environmental services
- Strategic communications advice to ministers, senior executives and business units
- Creative and editorial services
- Online management and regulatory information and services for small and medium businesses and operating the Victorian business line.

Finance provides financial management services for the Department and its senior management, and encompasses the services of finance, grants administration, procurement and financial systems support and development.
Information Management and Technology provides the department with IT and web based services, information and records management services, as well as project office capabilities.
Legal, Audit & Risk provides the department with legislative and legal services (including FOI, whistleblowers and privacy), governance advice, risk management, audit and probity services.
Strategic Communications provides expert, integrated, whole-of-department communications advice and solutions as well as high-quality editorial, speechwriting and graphic design services.
Business Services provides a range of business and other support and coordination services, including the management of shared services and environment management.
Business Victoria Online provides online management and regulatory information and services for Victoria's small and medium businesses. Business Victoria Online also operates the Victorian business line.
