Purpose
Tourism and Aviation promotes Victoria as a premium tourism destination for Australian and international travellers and is also responsible for promoting development of all aspects of the state’s aviation industry.Structure
The Tourism and Aviation Division includes:• Strategy and Policy
• Tourism Victoria
• Aviation Services
Strategy and Policy is responsible for development of whole-of-department marketing policy, in addition to tourism policy and major events policy.
Tourism Victoria is responsible for all the legislative commitments specified under the Tourism Victoria Commission Act 1992.
Aviation Services is involved in all aspects of commercial air services into Victoria, interaction with airlines, airports, maintenance and repair operations, Commonwealth Government, and education and training bodies. The aviation team is also responsible for developing Victoria as a centre for aviation services and training capability.
