eQuotation FAQs
How does the eQuotation system work?
An eQuotation opportunity:
- is generated and advertised by the Victorian Government Department of Business and Innovation
- applies to non complex contracts valued from $10,000 to $150,000
- is generally limited to professional advisory services e.g. research, reporting, analysis, training, public relations and IT design
- has a fairly fast turn around of three to five days. You need to be registered so you can respond quickly to email alerts.
How long does it take to register with eQuotation?
The eQuotation registration process only takes a few minutes to complete. Go to the Register now link on this page, or the eQuotation link under Related Content. All you’ll need for registration is your Australian Business Number (ABN) and a valid email address.
Can I change my notifications from eQuotation?
When you register with eQuotation you’ll be asked which categories of email notifications you want to receive, depending on the goods and services supplied by your business. Like most web-based systems eQuotation lets you manage your own account and change personal details. This includes changing or adding to your email notifications.
What does it cost to register with and use eQuotation?
The eQuotation system is a free online service established by the Victorian Government Department of Business and Innovation. There are no fees or charges for Small to Medium Enterprise suppliers to register with and use this service.
Does eQuotation include tenders as well as quotes?
The eQuotation system is designed to assist quoting not tendering. The difference is in the value of a government department purchase. A tender is used when the purchase of goods or services is valued at $150,000 or more. A quote is used when the purchase of goods or services is valued at less than $150,000. Tenders should be submitted through Tenders VIC, the official Victorian Government tenders website. See Related Content.
Can building and construction suppliers use eQuotation?
Quoting opportunities provided by eQuotation are generally limited to professional advisory services e.g. research, reporting, analysis, training, public relations and IT design. The system has not been designed for suppliers of building and construction goods and services.
