New Directions for Manufacturing
The Minister for Manufacturing, Exports and Trade, Richard Dalla-Riva released A More Competitive Manufacturing Industry: New Directions for Industry Policy and Manufacturing.
Mr Dalla-Riva said that the new manufacturing strategy would foster a more productive and competitive manufacturing businesses in Victoria.
"The Baillieu Government will work directly with individual firms to achieve better and more competitive outcomes.
“Manufacturing will continue to play a vital role in the Victorian economy as our manufacturers large and small develop 'next generation' capabilities to strengthen and expand their operations within the global marketplace
The key initiatives in A More Competitive Manufacturing Industry include the establishment of Manufacturing Solutions Victoria.
Manufacturing Solutions Victoria will bring together the best available specialists to work with manufacturing firms on adopting new practices.
The policy provides flexible support for industry-led networks to deliver additional services for improving the performance and productivity of their members; support for investment in leading edge technologies that can deliver high growth potential to manufacturing businesses and support for small manufacturers.
